The School of Plant Sciences is a participating program. (Please note that we are also conducting our own graduate admission for fall 2011.)Therefore, we have an opportunity to attract prospective ABBS graduate students from a large and diverse pool of applicants. ABBS will contact faculty members in each of the 5 participating programs to conduct interviews based on the applicants’ research interests.

A total of ~50 students will be visiting our campus during Jan 27-29 and Feb 10-12. As part of the recruitment, there will be a party each weekend during which current grad students can meet and help in recruiting the prospective students. The dates are January 27th and February 10th at night (around 6 PM at a grad student's house close to the university). I have asked David Jarvis and Shea Monihan to help recruit our graduate students to attend each party to represent the School of Plant Sciences. We will need 5 students representing our school each night. Unfortunately, the turnout has been abysmal thus far.

Please ask your graduate students to consider participating in this important recruitment effort by contacting David or Shea as soon as possible.

Regards,

Ramin
