In addition, the completed application must also include the necessary signatures, a clear description of the proposed sabbatical leave, a current curriculum vitae, and 2 letters of evaluation. One letter must be from the department head/school director. The letter from the head/director MUST include a clear description of how the teaching responsibilities will be handled within the unit during the time of the leave. The CALS Sabbatical Leave Committee will not consider applications which are incomplete, therefore it is the responsibility of the applicant and the unit to be sure the application is complete.

As a reminder, this round of applications is for the fiscal/academic year 2011-2012. Further, the length of the leave is dependent upon the applicant's appointment. Fiscal faculty are eligible for either a 6 or 12 month leave and academic year faculty leaves are either 1 or 2 semesters. This information is detailed in the University Handbook and may be found at http://uhap.web.arizona.edu/chap8.html#8.03.

The deadline to submit completed applications to CALS is November 12, 2010. Four copies of the application should be sent to my office, Room 201 in the Forbes Building. Normally applications are due to departments/schools by November 1, but your internal deadline may vary.

If there are questions, please contact Audrey Levine (alevine@cals.arizona.edu) at 621-3612.

Dave Cox

Attachment

David E.
