The Committee on Elections received an inadequate number of nominating
petitions for the Primary Election for the Committee on Committees (three-year
term, 6/10-5/13), and for several <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>Faculty
Senate College Representative</span></b> seats (two-year term, 6/10-5/12).<br>
<br>
The Committee on Elections is now conducting the <b><span style='font-weight:
bold'>second phase</span></b> of the faculty elections, the <b><span
style='font-weight:bold'>General Election</span></b> for the 2009-10 year in
accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws.<br>
<br>
The Chair of the Faculty, Wanda H. Howell, and the Vice Chair and Presiding
Officer of the Faculty Senate, Robert P. Mitchell, join us in asking you to
step forward to fill these seats. In these times of scarce resources and
imminent transformative changes, the Senate’s influential role in
decision-making is more important than ever. <br>
