Dear colleagues,

CALES unit heads received the following note this morning from our Interim Associate Dean for Research, Jon Chorover. He asked that we share the message with members of our units. Please see below, and please share it with members of your teams if relevant to your group.

Most information on matters related to federal funding and the immediate impacts of Executive Orders has been transmitted directly from University, CALES, ALVSCE, and faculty leaders to our faculty by email, but if further communication is received at the level of unit heads, I will be sure to share it.

Warm regards,
Betsy

We have learned that there are indications that climate data is likely to be pulled down from federally controlled websites, including NOAA, USGS, the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) in Asheville, NC, etc.

Please forward this message to faculty and research staff in your units that make use of these data, they may wish to make downloads sooner than later, and store locally, as a measure of caution.
