PPDC provides recommendations to the EPA on pesticide regulatory developments, public policy issues, and initiatives to evaluate and reduce pesticide risks. It also serves as a public forum to discuss the implementation of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA), and the Endangered Species Act (ESA) as they relate to pesticide programs. The EPA is seeking nominees to represent the sectors outlined in the committee’s charter, including:

• Pesticide industry and trade associations
• Pesticide user, grower, and commodity groups
• Federal and state/local/tribal governments
• General public
• Academia
• Public health organizations
Members are expected to serve an average of 4–6 hours per month and may be asked to serve on working groups to develop recommendations for specific policy issues. Candidates may self-nominate, and applications must include a résumé or CV, a statement of interest, and a letter of recommendation.
APPLICATION DUE: Applications will be accepted no later than August 21, 2025. Vacancies are expected to be filled by December 2025.

Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act Scientific Advisory Panel, Environmental Protection Agency
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency
BACKGROUND: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking nominations of scientific and technical experts to serve as ad hoc peer reviewers for the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act Scientific Advisory Panel (FIFRA SAP)<https://url.usb.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/XmNnCEKLJEt6Vj147cpi3s7Mz8I?domain=epa.gov>. This panel will conduct a peer review focused on determining the absence of novel proteins in the saliva of genetically engineered (GE) female mosquitoes intended for mosquito control.
EPA anticipates selecting approximately 6–9 ad hoc reviewers with expertise in areas such as analytical methods for nucleic acid and protein detection, molecular biology, mosquito biology, or entomology. Selected reviewers will participate in a virtual public meeting of the FIFRA SAP scheduled for November 3–5, 2025, and will be asked to provide input on the Agency’s draft white paper and related materials. This peer review and public meeting will inform the development of EPA’s final memorandum and guidance for GE mosquito developers.
Candidates may self-nominate, and each nomination should include the nominee’s contact information, affiliation, and specific areas of expertise to assist the EPA in evaluating qualifications.
APPLICATION DUE: Applications will be accepted no later than August 15, 2025, and in late August, the EPA will publish a Federal Register notice announcing the availability of the white paper for public review and providing instructions for submitting comments.
