Dear colleagues,

I hope that you all had a good weekend. Congratulations on wrapping up the semester, and to those attending the university's graduation and CALES convocation events today and over this past weekend, thank you for representing SPLS.

I'm writing because Jim Hunt in CALES has indicated that support is available for transitioning in-person courses to fully online format. This support requires that faculty work during the summer. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send me your course number(s), titles, and a one-sentence description; past enrollment and desired future enrollment; and any information you may wish to convey about the course. I am asked to provide a list to Jim on Thursday, May 16, at 5pm.

No further information was provided with the request from Jim, but I am happy to receive questions directly and share answers widely.

Please take a moment and reflect – if you have an appointment that includes instruction, do you have a course for which a transition to online format would work well? Please let me know ahead of Jim's deadline, and I will keep our curriculum committee(s) for our shared and core majors in the loop.

Warm regards,
Betsy
