Please sign up for and attend the workshop, and then begin organizing/updating your dossier.

Those who have not organized a Peer observation of your teaching (forms attached), please let me know this week.

The 2024-25 promotion dossier templates and guidelines<https://facultyaffairs.arizona.edu/promotion-dossier-templates> are now available. The most current promotion policies are provided in the University Handbook for Appointed Personnel (UHAP) 3.3 for Career-track and Tenure-track faculty and 4A.3 for Continuing Status track faculty. Please note the deadlines for 2024-2025 dossiers to be submitted to the Office of the Provost.



Career-Track submission deadline is Friday, December 13, 2024

Tenure-Track and Continuing-Track submission deadline is Friday, January 17, 2025

Provost decisions will be distributed no later than Friday, April 25, 2025.



Please encourage candidates to watch updated promotion workshops, which will be available on-line on the Faculty Affairs Promotion Workshops webpage<https://facultyaffairs.arizona.edu/promotion-workshops> by March 11, 2024.



Please encourage all peer review committee members and department heads to watch updated workshops on promotion review best practices, which will be available on-line on the Faculty Affairs Promotion Workshops webpage by March 11, 2024.



To avoid any disruption of the promotion review process, please review the section on most common problems in dossiers.<https://facultyaffairs.arizona.edu/common-problems-promotion-dossiers> In particular, both candidates and department heads need to carefully review the conflict of interest recommendations<https://facultyaffairs.arizona.edu/promotion-dossiers#:~:text=Conflict%20of%20Interest%3A> and closely adhere to the guidance.



The following is a brief summary of updates for this promotion cycle.

1.      The teaching reviews must utilize the 2024 UPDATED correct UCATT observation tool this review cycle unless a special dispensation has been provided by the Office of the Provost. Please find information and the correct tools for in-person and online observations in Section 6 and 6A of the dossier templates<https://facultyaffairs.arizona.edu/promotion-dossier-templates#:~:text=%C2%A0View%20pdf-,Section%206,%C2%A0View%20pdf,-6B>.

2.       There are updated 2024 tutorials on how to download abbreviated student ratings (SCS<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgIrUYZxGoA> or TCE<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_gewC20v0o>) for promotion and tenure purposes that will be uploaded into Section 6A. These tutorials also include details on how to download student comments into a separate PDF that will be uploaded into Section 6B.
