Apologies to those who received this message more than once. Some of our
listservs are outdated and I want to ensure everyone receives this message.
Please see below.
Dear Faculty,
The Graduate Committee has identified seven applicants to our graduate
programs that are competitive for admission. I would like to move forward
with planning on-campus interviews for a subset of these applicants. One
important consideration in this process is whether labs in SPLS have
capacity to take students in the next academic year. I am asking that
faculty who are interested in recruiting a student to their lab notify
Keenia Shinagawa (cc'd here) and me so that we can provide you access to
application materials through GradApp. Please reply to both Keenia and me
stating your interest no later than 5 PM, Friday, January 26th. We will
then provide you access to GradPath along with a list of students for your
review. Please also indicate the graduate program(s) you wish to review
(e.g., PLS-MS, PLP-MS, PLS-PhD, PLP-PhD).
Also, note that other students interested in SPLS have applied through the
ABBS umbrella program and have been invited to interview February 16th. If
you would like more information about these students, contact Keenia and me.
One final note: in the current academic year seven students joined our
graduate programs and six students rotated through SPLS labs as part of
ABBS. I expect that, in total, SPLS labs will be home to 10 new students
this year. It is important that we appropriately gauge our capacity to
accommodate students next year. I'm asking that you all keep this in mind
as you consider applicants to our program.
Thanks,
Mark
