Everyone,

As you’ll see in the below email, President Robbins has asked that we pause internal and external communications beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, and continue through Friday, Oct. 6. Communications include but are not limited to mass emails, newsletters and social media posts.

Presidential Events and Ceremonies has also asked that we not hold gatherings – in person or virtual – during this pause.

I’ll be reaching out to our central administration for more information and guidance regarding the requested events pause. I’m aware of one faculty/staff event we have scheduled for October 6th, Jon and Zelieann I’ll reach out to you directly. Jim, I know we have an AG 100 meeting scheduled as well, I’ll be in contact with you as soon as I have more information as well.

If anyone else needs guidance or wants to talk through the below, please reach out to myself and Cody Sinks, we can help coordinate/support.

As we approach one year since the death of Dr. Thomas Meixner, President Robbins has asked campus colleagues to pause communications<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=4995d5b55febdb25c302a8b7a7923c04cdf2c356463332c69ac12b471e09d25d06059977d55a2632842c69a5249e2165c6d0673c4a98b190> for a few days surrounding Oct. 5.

President Robbins will send an email to the University community on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 3, to honor Dr. Meixner. We ask marketing and communications professionals to begin the pause on internal and external communications at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, and continue through Friday, Oct. 6. Communications include but are not limited to mass emails, newsletters and social media posts.

Please reschedule any previously planned communications to be distributed before noon on Oct. 3 or after Oct. 6. Presidential Events and University Ceremonies has also asked event planners to not hold any gatherings – in person or virtual – during this pause.
