Dear colleagues,

I serve as our liaison to the Honors College. Some recent announcements might be of interest to you. Please see below.

Best regards,
Betsy

>From the Honors College: If you have any questions about any of these initiatives, please reach out to Tori Nardinelli, Assistant Director of Research, Creative Expression, and Professional Initiatives at outfleet at arizona.edu<mailto:outfleet at arizona.edu>.

Exploratory Mini-Grants Now OPEN

We are excited to announce that applications for new Exploratory Mini-Grants are now available! Please see the webpage<https://frankehonors.arizona.edu/exploratory-mini-grants> for more details. The application is open through November 8th for funding disbursed for the Spring semester. We could really use your help getting the word out to Honors students!

New Faculty Database

In an effort to create more resources to help students find faculty mentors, I would like to introduce a new faculty database.... This form<https://airtable.com/appfAgimJ6RWdpco4/shr4zoDADYspHtk5M> will allow you to indicate the types of research mentorship that you may be willing to offer honors students. Even if you were on the old list that was piloted for the Quest program last year, please resubmit a new form. The list will be purged and updated on a yearly basis.

Research Opportunities Kick Off

We are hosting a Research Opportunities Kick Off event in 1067/1068 from 5:00 – 6:30pm on Wednesday, October 11th.

The vision is 45 minutes devoted to a student panel of previous Quest participants and 45 minutes devoted to faculty pitches/mingling/Q&A. If you would like to be included in the faculty pitch (either by video pitch proxy or in-person; in-person preferred), please RSVP here<https://forms.gle/BErU8CMSo9nJoeLA9>. We have limited space and priority will be given to our Honors Interdisciplinary Faculty members, so please RSVP early.

D2L Post

If you are teaching an honors course, please consider posting an announcement on D2L. If you’d like a template<https://arizona.box.com/s/ugtz6w117z6ydtkuedqpiewk6lsbbnnk>, you can find one here.
