[Plsfaculty] Business Office Updates

Good Afternoon All,

This announcement comes with both great sadness for SPLS and excitement for Richard. Richard will be moving on from the school to join the College of Pharmacy as a Principal Accountant. Richard has been with Plant Sciences for over 7 years and has truly been an asset to the unit, please join us in congratulating Richard on the promotion. His last day will be June 23rd, and in the meantime, we will be working to ensure a smooth transition of all his accounts well before this date.

With all the transition going on in the business office, Nate and I would like to reassure that we will be continuing to support all business functions, which includes providing accounting support to the unit until we can get the position replaced. We are planning on posting the position immediately and will focus on internal candidates that have research experience. Many of you have been very supportive in serving on the search committees for the other positions, so if anyone is interested in serving on the search committee for the Accountant position, please let me know asap.

Additionally, we will be welcoming the new Business Officer to the team starting 7/3/23. She is joining us from Environmental Sciences and will be working with the team prior to her start date to get familiar with operations and the accounts.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Nate or I in the meantime.
