Dear University of Arizona Sustainable Plant Systems,

Thank you for your work supporting agriculture, especially sustainable  agriculture. Our company shares this priority. I'm Justin from ARTi (link<http://arti.com/>). We make biochar and the machines that produce it. In case you haven't heard of it, biochar is a natural bio-based soil amendment that aids in water retention, soil nutrients and also sequesters carbon. We have a partner biochar producer in the state of Arizona that is collecting wood from forestry projects to reduce burn risk and is making biochar from this excess wood. Therefore, we are looking for farms and gardeners in AZ that would like to use it. This would mean mixing it with compost and then adding the mix to the soil. In our opinion, biochar is a must in the world of sustainable agriculture. We worked with educational institutes before. We conducted a biochar project with Waukee Community School District public school district located in Waukee, Iowa.(link<https://www.arti.com/artis-community-outreach-enhancing-sustainability-in-waukee-community-school-district-through-donated-biochar/>) In our biased opinion, we feel that biochar is a must in terms of Sustainable Plant Systems.
