Hi Ramin:



Yes I have heard rumors:  I will try to find out the latest.  Jeff Ratje is seeking a meeting of HODs for October to discuss the general fiscal situation, which seems to imply accommodating/reacting to effects for the upcoming fiscal year.  Regarding the current fiscal year and current searches, we have the go ahead to hire for two extension positions with these persons to be hired ASAP, and we are in the middle of negotiating the controlled environment tenure track position with Dr. Leme.

There are a lot of rumors going around about the extent of CALS budget shortfall (due to taxing by central admin) affecting the individual units in the college. Could you please share with us what you know about this with respect to SPLS?
