This came across the UA internet today via COM, but I judge it universally applicable:

TikTok Application Ban on University-owned devices by September 28

Due to the information security concerns expressed in both the federal executive order<https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/M-23-13-No-TikTok-on-Government-Devices-Implementation-Guidance_final.pdf> and the subsequent Arizona State executive order<https://azgovernor.gov/office-arizona-governor/executive-order/executive-order-2023-10> regarding the use of TikTok and other ByteDance applications, and to ensure compliance with these orders, the University Information Security Office is implementing a ban on the TikTok application for university-owned and managed devices. No later than 28 September 2023, ITS is required to identify and remove any instances of TikTok that are installed on all university-owned devices, and to block future installations. I encourage all faculty, staff, students, and DCCs to assist in this effort by checking their University-provided devices for the TikTok application and removing it if installed. If you need any assistance or have any questions, please reach out to me or Mario.

Thanks

David
