Dear Colleagues,
I would like to let you that the due date (May 1, 2023) for applying for the Early Career Competition of the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) is quickly approaching.
Would you please forward this information to your faculty and staff, on and off-campus, and encourage them to participate?
Chaired by Dr. Genhua Niu, ASHS Board Member-At-Large, the Early Career Competition has been developed for new faculty and professionals to communicate the impact of their extension, research, teaching, and other scholarly activities. The purpose of this competition is to provide a platform for new scholars to advance their work and reputation in addition to helping facilitate peer-reviewed extension, teaching, and/or research from a wide range of horticultural professionals.
This opportunity is available to postdocs, early career faculty (tenure-track assistant professors, non-tenure track faculty within the first 5 years of service at their current position), and industry and governmental professionals (within the first 5 years of service at their current position).
Each participant will be required to submit an expanded 1000-word abstract detailing and explaining their entire program and how their research, teaching, extension and/or scholarly activities interact. The participant also needs to provide a biographical summary not to exceed 100 words. Submissions must be made online to: https://ashs.confex.com/ashs/2023/cfp.cgi
The top four applications will be selected and scheduled for presentations during a 2-hour block at the ASHS Annual Conference.
For more information and application guideline, please visit: https://ashs.confex.com/ashs/2023/cfp.cgi.
Thank you in advance.
