[Plsfaculty] DEI issues for discussion in Faculty Council

Hi All,

A subcommittee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion of the CALS Faculty Council will meet next Monday (4/10) to discuss DEI-related issues of concern to all faculty members. The tentative discussion topics include the following:


  *   Faculty searches/recruitment of a diverse applicant pool- Is this happening? To what extent?
  *   Making CALS an inclusive space for faculty; restrooms, and other topics
  *   Can faculty APR criteria include an expectation to engage in some form of DEI-related professional development, service, etc.? Are there any rules against this? What can this look like? What are other units doing on this front, and does anyone use the UA Vitae box where you highlight DEI related work?

If you have any DEI issues or concerns and would like to have them discussed at the meeting, please let me know by Sunday (4/9). It would be greatly appreciated if you could also provide some background information related to your issues/concerns.
