Greetings from the 2022 APR Committee,
Well, we've completed yet another year and so I hope everyone is planning a relaxing and enjoyable Holiday with friends and family to celebrate.  Tis the season to be jolly.....and to begin thinking about our Annual Performance Reviews in January.  The process has changed a bit this year, not so much but a little.  In particular, we will all be uploading CV's in addition to the standard data entry we are all familiar with from previous years.  Jean McLain, Assistant Dean for Faculty Advancement, has been keeping us all updated on this process.

The format for the CV has been suggested in a template sent out by Jean McLain, but each unit is free to request a specific format most appropriate for each unit's APR process.  The format for the SPLS APR CV's will be discussed by the APR committee in January and then presented to the faculty for comment and approval.  For this reason, begin thinking about the contents of your individual CV within the context of the template sent out, but don't be too fixed on the format just yet.  The APR committee will send out guidance in January.

And so in the interim, I suggest for all to go into UA Vitae and begin reviewing the information in your UA Vitae Profile (review and edit as needed) and UA Vitae Activities.  Much of the UA Vitae Activities section is auto-populated (Credit Bearing Courses, GradPath Advising Activities, Grants and Contracts), but these should still be closely reviewed as you will find errors, which should then be reported to our business office or to the Graduate College for correction.  In addition, begin updating your Scholarly Contributions and Creative Productions, your Extension Programs, Meetings, and Activities , and your Honors, Awards, and Fellowships.  Also, please update the section on Major Committments and Plans as this is an important component in each faculty evaluation.

The period for creating your 2022 APR report, the opening and closing date, will be announced in January along with addition instructions/guidelines specific to our SPLS APR process.   And so until then, enjoy the Holidays and review your UA Vitae Profile and Activities, as time permits.  Cheers.
