[Plsfaculty] Furlough and Furlough Based Salary Reduction Program: INFO and ZOOM Meeting

Hello everyone-

With the recent information that was released, the Furlough and Furlough based salary reduction program did go into effect on Monday 08/10/2020 and will run through 06/30/2021.  Those who are participating in the salary reduction program will see the reduction take effect on the 08/28 paycheck.  UArizona will be doing an internal review of the program and savings in October 2020 and March 2021 and will make any necessary adjustments at that time.

Erin has developed the attached informational guide (thank you, Erin!).  I encourage everyone to review the guide and the following clarification points:

  1.  FACULTY- please review your employees funding (Personnel Tab of the last monthly financial report).  If you need to make any changes to your employees- you must do so TODAY (08/20).  Please contact David or Richard if any changes are needed.
  2.  FACULTY- if you are currently working on a Hatch, Multi-State, or Smith Lever Project: these are considered sponsored awards and you are placed into the Furlough Program.
  3.  The guide shows you how to access your tile in UAccess Employee- which tells you what your requirements for this program are).  UArizona is taking another snapshot of all funding on Friday (08/21) and this tile will be updated by early next week.  If you have a discrepancy between what is listed in your tile and what you were expecting, please let us know.

This program is quite difficult to manage and has changed many times.  This announcement is being sent out to the following groups: Faculty, Staff, Appointed Professionals.  Erin and I will be hosting a Furlough Question Zoom Session on Friday (08/21) from 10:00-11:00 am.
