[Plsfaculty] March letter from Dean

Dear PLS faculty,

The attached letter from the Dean is one you must read.  As you will see, we
have an important assignment in regards to assessing what PLS does, can do,
and should do in the future.  I think the faculty meetings Rod Wing has
organized will be very helpful in this regard, as they provide a form to
better appreciate the diversity of faculty in PLS and their
responsibilities.  Still, it will be challenging to decide how we do "less
with less".  I will be back in touch shortly with an agenda for planning
meetings, as the schedule to respond to the Dean is tight, to say the least.
