[Plsfaculty] Important Information: New Effort Reporting System

Hello All,

 

During the past years, the UA has managed the effort reports for federal
funded accounts on a manual basis.  These reports were generated by
Sponsored Projects, reviewed by each business staff in the appropriate units
and finally signed/approved by the lead faculty for those federal funds.
That is now changed.   No longer will the reports be done on paper, but
on-line via UAccess Financial.  Which means that our review and your
approval will be done virtually.

 

Normally, you have been contacted by Renee or Joy to sign those reports.
But, with the new system only the Fiscal Officer, which is me, can do the
review and adjustments on the reports and only the "Account Supervisor" -
the PI can approve these reports.  We can do longer delegate those duties.
The system is a bit more complicated due to the new Cost Sharing requirement
which must post the cost share expense to your grant, not the grant budget
but a new grant account established for voluntary or non-voluntary Cost
Share.

 

Therefore, some of the reports will be easily done and completed through
your "Action List" via UAccess Financials.  But, quite of few grants are
complicated for various reasons.  For those grants and PI, I will work with
your individually to review/adjust and approve each of your effort reports
for your staff.   

 

The reports will be released this week, and I will be in contact to work
with you on these reports.
