Dear colleagues:
I do not know if you remember what you were doing on September 11,
2001 in the early morning.
I was, of course, on the Internet (no surprise to you that truly know
me!), and was puzzled by the fact that the New York Times website was
strangely unresponsive.
We all came to learn, eventually and very sadly, what that
implied. I also remember later in the day saying to someone: "Look
up, and you will never, ever again see a sky, so blue, and so lacking
in contrails". These little things remain with us.....
Ten years later, we look back on these events, and now a special
concert is available in commemoration. As a Member of the Board of
the Tucson Chamber Artists, I am privileged to invite you to this
concert in Centennial Hall this Sunday. The program includes the
Mozart Requiem, and a new commission from notable American composer,
Stephen Paulus, in commemoration of all whose lives were affected on
that day.
Attached please find publicity, which includes ticket information.
The concert is at 3pm on Sunday 9/11. Please note that all students
(K-12 and college students with ID) are free. I hope to welcome you
at this event, and hope you will pass this information on to your friends.
Best wishes,
David
