If a good fit is determined and you are interested in submitting a charitable grant request, please also contact your unit’s development office. Note that appropriate routing for some opportunities may be UA Sponsored Projects Services and/or the VP for Research and Graduate Studies. If routing is most appropriate through the GIFT Center please remember that the GIFT Center requires three days prior to the mailing deadline to review a charitable grant proposal; electronic proposals and those with signature requirements require a week. To initiate review before your submission, send a draft proposal and funder guidelines to your GIFT Center contact (if applicable) and to GIFTCenter at al.arizona.edu.

BIO5: Collaborative Research & Tech Transfer Funds

Deadline: September 16, 2011

The BIO5 Institute plans to confer several awards ranging from $25,000-$75,000 for "Innovation Seed Grants" and for "Pilot Projects that Span Fields Relevant to Biological Sciences." At least one investigator must be a member of BIO5.

Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation – Inflammatory Bowel Disease Grants

Deadline: ongoing

The Broad Medical Research Program awards research grants for innovative proposals that will lead to improvements in the prevention, diagnosis, or therapy of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, including research into the possible reasons for differences in IBD incidence between developing and developed countries.  Past grants have ranged from $13,000-$190,000.  Letters of Interest are reviewed throughout the year.

Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation – Postdoctoral Program in Environmental Chemistry

Deadline: August 25, 2011
The Postdoctoral Program in Environmental Chemistry provides a principal investigator with an award of $120,000 over two years to appoint a Postdoctoral Fellow in environmental chemistry.  Research areas of interests include, but are not limited to, the chemistry associated with the climate, the atmosphere, aquatic or marine settings, toxicology, soil or groundwater.
