The Arizona Biomedical Research Commission has released the new Request for
Proposals (RFP No. FY11-100).   The proposals are due November 15, 2010 by
3:00 PM.  A copy of the RFP is attached.  

 

There are three categories of proposals:

 

.         Category I - Total funding request of no more than $50,000/year.
Category I proposals are limited to new investigators or as pilot projects.
The indirect cost cannot exceed 10% of direct costs, i.e., $45,455 direct
costs and $4,545 indirect costs

.         Category II - For multi-investigator research collaborations which
may involve more than one institution.  Total funding cannot exceed
$100,000/year.  Inter-departmental proposals will be accepted.   For
Category II proposals, $90,000 is available for research and $10,000 is
allowed for indirect costs.  See page 14 of the RFP for the example of the
indirect cost calculation.

.         Category III - For multidisciplinary inter-institutional research
projects.  Total funding is $125,000/year with no matching funds required.
Total funding of $175,000/year is permitted; however, these proposals
require matching funds with a one to one ratio.

Anyone interested in submitting a Category III proposal that requires
matching funds will have to have departmental or college commitments.  The
Vice President for Research office is not able to provide matching funds
this year.
