[Plsfaculty] HHMI & Moore Foundation Competition in Plant Sciences

Hello All,

 

The attached letter was received today in the School of Plant Sciences.  The
Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation have
teamed together for a new national competition to select as many as 15
outstanding investigators for the Program in Plant Sciences.

 

The due date is 11.09.10 at 3 p.m. (as I stated we just received the letter
today  - it was sent to the Provost Office and received by them on
10.06.10.)

A few items regarding this competition:

 

.         At this time, it does not appear that it needs to be reroute
through the Dept/College or University

.         Only tenure or tenure track faculty with an appointed in Plant
Sciences at the UA are eligible to apply (no adjuncts or Federal USDA
employees can apply.

.         You must have begun their faculty position as an Assistant
Professor by 12.31.06 or prior.

.         Be a PI on one or more active federal grants.  Mentored or
Training awards do not quality.
