[Plsfaculty] Proposals for the Gowan Company

Ten senior members of the Gowan Company in Yuma visited campus a couple of
months ago. Gowan is a fertilizer and pesticide formulator; much of this for
other companies. They also have a seed business in CA. I think it is all
vegetable seeds but one of you may know more. They want to expand and grow
their business and are looking for ideas from faculty. If you have any ideas
for a proposal to them in the crop protection or fertility area or the seed
business, please send me a two page proposal as soon as possible. The IDC
rate is going to be 26%, at least for any grants above $50K. If you have any
ideas for Gowan, I need a two page proposal as soon as possible. Colin is
hoping to assimilate them this week so that they can be submitted as a
package to Gowan. This is very short notice but many of you can put this
together from previous grants in a short time.
