Dear Maám,

I am Vibhav Zutshi, a B.Tech, Second Year Undergraduate Student of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India. I am undergoing B.Tech course in Agricultural and Food Engineering in this institute. It is a practice in IIT Kharagpur that B.Tech students after second year of engineering take up projects or research work related to their discipline and subject of interest during Indian summer vacations. I am also therefore looking at the possibility of getting attached as an ‘Intern’ or ‘Trainee’ with your Esteemed University and working on a project related to my discipline for about 8-10 weeks during May’11 to July’11. My interest is to take a project/research work in any Agricultural and Food Science/Engineering related subject, particularly in the areas of Micronutrients, Organic Fertilizers, Database/Softwares/Models developed for Optimum use of Fertilizers, Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Commercial Farms, Successful Cooperatives,  Systems, Micro Finance.


At present, I am doing an Industrial Training in New Delhi with IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited - www.iffco.nic.in) - the world’s largest fertiliser cooperative federation based in India-and working on, "Soil Rejuvenation and Productivity Enhancement Project" covering the aforementioned topics. The aim of this project is to address the vital issues of continuous deterioration in soil health and increase the food production in the country, ensuring food security in an environmentally sustainable manner.  
 

I am also attaching my personal resumé. 

I have been recommended to contact the Undergraduate Advisors by Majors by Ma'am Nancy Rodriguez Lorta. I have completed courses on Crop Production Technology, Soil Technology and Crop Model Management and I'd be honored if Arizona University could consider taking me as an intern.
