[Plsfaculty] faculty meeting scheduled for noon 17 Aug

We have a scheduled faculty meeting for next Tues at noon in Rm 307 Forbes.
We have several items on the agenda:
 
1.       Introduction of new faculty
2.       Discussion of next 1-2 faculty slots that we should recruit. I hope
that you can bring something in writing if you are advocating that we make a
hire in a specific area. 
3.       I would like to begin to talk about a Biotechnology degree in our
School/College. UC Davis has the same problem with low enrollment in their
PLS program but the biotech program has ~200 students. If you are interested
in this concept, you can visit their website at

h/index.htm . John Yoder is the faculty  advisor for the biotech degree. As
we have several new faculty, this could create an opportunity to develop
some new courses. As tuition dollars will begin to follow SCHs next year,
this is important.
