[Plsfaculty] Kudos to Rachael Mattul

Dear PL S and PL P faculty - 

I am Rachael Mattull's supervisor.  I would like to take this opportunity to

publicly acknowledge all the effort, far beyond the call of duty, which

Rachael put into the prospective grad student weekend visits.  This is a

weekend that takes weeks of work.  The time that she puts into the visit is

part of her job -- but it also takes away from all the other duties of our

office.  

 

If Rachael has not been officially thanked, I encourage all of you to do so.

This was a very successful weekend, and she did an excellent job.  Not only

did she organize all the air fares (and the changes and problems), all the

hotels and the adjustments there, but also all the dinners (which people

either joined at the last minute or cancelled), all the reservations 

and accommodations for food/entertainment, and all the scheduling of the
students

with faculty (which people changed up until the last minute -- even after

the final schedule was completed). 

 

I hope that next year's graduate visits are as successful.
