November 7 at Fort Lowell Park: 2900 N. Craycroft Rd. Along with
the field (#8) we have reserved a nearby ramada (#6) at which we are providing
a picnic catered by BrushFire BBQ (</span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial"><a href="http://www.brushfirebbq.com/">http://www.brushfirebbq.com/</a>).
We expect the picnic to begin at 12pm, and the game to begin at 1pm.</span></p>

know the softball game was an event that held a special place in Dr. Van
Etten's heart, as it was an opportunity for the entire School of Plant Sciences
to enjoy each others company, and we would like the game to be held in his
memory. Thus, we are proud to announce the <b>1st Annual Hans Van
Etten Memorial Softball Game</b>. Dr. Van Etten was invaluable to the School of
Plant Sciences, and we felt this was a small but special way to honor Hans'
life, his influential work in the field, and his unending dedication to
students. </span></p>

addition to your invitation we are asking for your help in raising funds
for the cost of the food and park reservation. We are asking for donations of:
$20 from faculty, $10 from post-docs and staff, and $5 from graduate students.
Those wishing to consume alcohol in the form of beer are suggested to
contribute $10 each to a separate fund. Please direct contributions to the
