Dear Colleague,
On Wednesday, March 13, beginning at 6:00 a.m., there will be a power shutdown in the Computer Center. This shutdown will include the High Performance Computing (HPC) data center and all servers on premises.
This shutdown will be the final step to resolve the issue that prevented the emergency power generator from switching to backup power during a TEP power loss on July 14, 2024.
Please note:
* Cloud services will not be impacted.
* Building 73a (west side of the Computer Center) will not be impacted.
* The campus network will not be impacted.
* Additional details including channels to be used for notification of project completion/all-clear will be communicated prior to the shutdown.
If you work in the Computer Center, Building 73, please make alternative work location plans for March 13. Power is scheduled to be restored by the end of the day on March 13 or possibly early March 14 if necessary.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jeremy Frumkin,<mailto:frumkinj at arizona.edu?subject=> Senior Director, Research & Discovery Technologies.
Sincerely,
Univesity Information Technology Services
The University of Arizona
