Dear members of our SPLS community,

Please join me in taking a moment to thank our cherished community member, Finn Galpin, Academic Advisor I, who has reached their last day with us in the School of Plant Sciences.

Since joining the School, Finn has been a caring and supportive member of our SPLS community, working hard on behalf of our students and making a real difference in their lives. Finn's contributions in support of our instructional mission, and presence in our unit, have been bright lights. Their efforts have helped the SPLS Curriculum Committee make changes in the PLS program to improve the student experience while maintaining the rigor of our degree. They have provided caring advocacy for students who needed help in navigating the major, streamlined our process for selecting our Outstanding Senior, improved the credit-awarding process for experiential learning, and used their creative skills to develop colorful, inviting, and modern flyers for our courses. Moreover, they were always 'there' as a compassionate, caring listener for students in times of need. They have been a wonderful member of our community in every way.

We thank you Finn for all you have done, and wish you the best in what we know will be a bright future.

Warm regards,
Betsy
