[Plantsci] Introducing Jen Rascon

Dear SPLS community,

As a follow-up email to my note last Thursday, it is my pleasure to introduce Jennifer (Jen) Rascon (she/her/hers) (jrascon1 at arizona.edu<mailto:jrascon1 at arizona.edu>), Business Manager for ENVS, WRRC, and now SPLS.

Jen will work with our business staff to ensure operations continue to improve and, overall, are efficient and effective. She has a strong background and has worked with Kevin for the past year.

For your business office needs, please continue to use SPLS-bizoffice at arizona.edu. Emails sent to that address reach Jen and Kevin. Please stay tuned for updates and information about the steps we continue to take to support and improve the operations of our business office – and as always, please let me know of concerns as they arise: we are working as a team to move the unit forward.

Jen has shared the following bio with us.

I have been with the University since 2006. I started in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences development office working with Scholarships, donor endowments and Raisers Edge (donor database). I worked with the Eller College of Management as the Development Operations Manager. Then I moved to a College of Science department, overseeing financial management of 10 service centers. Just about a year ago I moved to Environmental Science and started working for Kevin. We have built an amazing team in the business office over this last year.

I look forward to the possibilities this new structure provides and hope to spread the supportive team culture we have created in Environmental Science to the team here in the School of Plant Sciences. I enjoy learning about the different units and the work done. I look forward to meeting you all.
