Hello Everyone,

Update on actions being taken to address backlog of financial tasks
Effective immediately through February 12th-  DBS will be processing the following financial transactions for the business office:
Pcard Reconciliation
Travel Reimbursements
Invoice Payments
Requisitions (POs)

I will be spending the time between now and February 12th with the accountants on the monthly PI Financial Reports.  This will be a time where we will finally be able to make all the corrections and do all the training that is needed for the accountants to be able to send out correct and timely monthly PI Financial Reports.  All PIs will receive an account report on or before February 12th.  Going forward, reports will go out monthly within the first full two weeks of each month.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Due to staffing shortages caused by various sensitive situations, tomorrow and Friday there will not be an accountant in the office.  I will be working remotely Thursday and Friday in order to be able to devote as many hours as possible and my full attention to completing the account reports that have to be cleaned up and distributed prior to next week.  That will be my prime directive and I will only be checking email sporadically to catch any urgencies.  I greatly appreciate everyone's assistance and patience during this time when I am the only financial staff member from SPLS available.  Lizeth will be in to cover the office both days and our new student worker, Devionn'Tae Williams will also be in, per his part time schedule.

Administrative Support Specialist Vacancy Update- I have submitted the request to post for this position and am awaiting approval.  It currently remains empty from when Angelyca Reed left in December.  I had hoped to include any feed back from the new Interim Director on what their expectations were for that position, to ensure the effort was distributed correctly.  I haven't received any information when the new interim director might be instated so I have moved forward in requesting the posting with what has been required in the past.
