[Plantsci] Update on the search process for the School of Plant Sciences Director

I wanted to personally update you regarding the search process for the Director of the School of Plant Sciences.

The search committee has identified four candidates as finalist for the position. We have invited the finalist to campus in late October/ early November for in-person interviews. On Oct 3, Dean Burgress sent a memo to all unit heads initiating a pause on all faulty hiring throughout the College. I have attached a copy of that memo for your information. Yesterday, we contacted all four finalist for the Director position to explain the pause in the process.

I know how important this search is and how much it will impact the School of Plant Sciences, our College, and all of you personally. On behalf of the search committee I want express my appreciate for your understanding and patience. Once the hiring pause is lifted we will continue the search. We still have four incredible School Director candidates that we will bring to campus so that you will have an opportunity to meet them and provide feedback regarding each individual candidate.

Again to reiterate the search process will continue with the four selected finalists, and the with the same hiring committee once the hiring pause is lifted.
