[Plantsci] FY2023 Salary Increase Program Confusion

Dear SPLS,

Several people have raised concerns about the recent merit increase program and how that information was communicated to everyone. After reviewing the memos as written it is easy to see where this confusion comes from.

If you are a non-exempt employee, your memo included what appeared to be a very tiny increase. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Non-exempt employees are required to enter time on an hourly basis, and in the communication you received, your raise was presented to you as a per hour wage increase. Meaning, if you were paid $25.00/hour, your increase would appear to be $0.88. However, please realize that your salary increase is $0.88 per hour, and not per annum. The memo was poorly communicated, and it caused confusion for some.

For exempt employees your memo communicated to you an annual salary increase, rather than an hourly wage increase.
