Hello! As a 2019 and/or 2020 (almost) Commencement volunteer, we're excited to share that the 2021 graduation ceremony volunteer sign-up is officially open.

With recent announcements of in-person graduation ceremonies and extended invitations to guests, we need your help to celebrate the Class of 2021. As a volunteer, you are part of a community that is instrumental in delivering an unforgettable experience to graduating students, their families, and their friends.

If you've volunteered for Commencement before, this year will clearly be different! We are partnering together to create a series of hybrid commencement/convocation ceremonies between May 11-May 18. You can learn more, and view the current schedule of ceremonies at commencement.arizona.edu/ceremonies. Sign up using the link below to work a specific college ceremony and if possible, we hope you consider signing up to help at other ceremonies that week.

Volunteer shifts will be shorter than in years past, but we need to staff 16 smaller scale ceremonies. Morning shifts at the Davis Sports Center will take place from 7am to 12pm and evening shifts at Arizona Stadium will take place from 5 to 10pm. More so than in any other year, we literally cannot do this without you!

While positions vary, the majority require volunteers to be outdoors with minimal shade and perform physical tasks such as holding signage, directing graduates and guests, and distributing water bottles. Please note, volunteers may be asked to enforce safety policies, such as keeping aisles clear and directing non-wheelchair guests to appropriate seating areas.

All volunteers must watch the training video which will be released in early May. Volunteers will receive the instructions and information for this when it becomes available.

Please keep in mind that all volunteers, staff, faculty, and graduating students will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to their shifts OR approved vaccination documentation on file through Campus Health. All guests are to be ticketed, required to show a completed Wildcat WellCheck prior to entry. Everyone will be required to follow the University of Arizona COVID-Prevention procedures.
