[Plantsci] Ethernet Switch/Hub/Splitter Replacement

The university is going to replace all network switches
I will need to have a complete inventory of all the switches in the buildings we have.
Just want to make sure everyone is ok with me going into everyone's lab and office space to check for them

Subject: Ethernet Switch/Hub/Splitter Replacement



The University is implementing the next phase of the campus network security upgrade. This will apply to all University buildings.



If your Ethernet jack has a switch (a splitter or hub that plugs into the jack to allow two or more devices to plug into the network), it will need to be replaced.



By March 2021, all switches and all devices plugged into the network will need to conform to the new network security policy, or you will not be able to connect to the campus network.



Please let your departmental IT staff know about any switches in your area by Friday, December 18, 2020 so that they can arrange for the replacement.
