[Plantsci] Vacation Carryover and Compassionate Transfer of Leave

Good Morning Colleagues,

As we close 2020, there are a couple of updates to our Vacation Policy and Compassionate Transfer of Leave Policy<https://policy.arizona.edu/employment-human-resources/compassionate-transfer-leave> that I would like to bring to your attention.

  *   The Arizona Board of Regents<https://arizona.box.com/s/ylz85j4ap0wac00waizk4xyvhtlsabon> approved an increase in the amount of vacation hours that can be carried forward in 2021, from 264 to 320 hours for a 1.0 FTE.  (This amount is prorated based on FTE and/or years of service for Classified Staff employees.) Hours above 320 (or the prorated amount) will be forfeited on January 10, 2021.
  *   The Compassionate Transfer of Leave Policy was revised in 2018 to assist employees facing a catastrophic illness personally or within their family. With this change, the University created a central pool of hours that are funded by forfeited vacation hours. Your forfeited vacation hours fund the Compassionate Transfer program.

It is a good feeling to know that our forfeited vacation hours are not wasted but instead are helping colleagues in need.
