Congratulations to Brian Maitner
In the last issue of Science, EEB PhD graduate student Brian Maitner was the second author on a paper published in Science, "Metabolic asymmetry and the global diversity of marine predators<https://arizona.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=db9ec68208a01ab34170f765f&id=48f2206fd8&e=71068ef53d>". The lead author was also a U of A EEB undergraduate who is now a postdoc.

Center for Insect Science Hexapodium - NEW!
     A special Center for Insect Science Hexapodium will be held on Wednesday, February 27th at the Arizona Inn<https://arizona.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=db9ec68208a01ab34170f765f&id=34ca3fb5d2&e=71068ef53d>, near the UA campus. Events will occur in the African and Safari Rooms, along with the lovely outdoor terrace. Plenty of parking is available across the street in the parking lot, or on the streets surrounding the Inn. Spring 2019 Python Offerings
There are two upcoming opportunities for learning the Python programming language:
     First, the iSchool and University of Arizona Libraries are offering a three-month introduction to Python workshop. This workshop series is designed to help novices to programming get started with the Python language. The workshop will run Wednesday, February 13 through Wednesday, May 1, every Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Registration is required and registrants who can participate in all sessions will be given priority (register at https://tinyurl.com/python-2019-spring<https://arizona.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=db9ec68208a01ab34170f765f&id=9989bb96a0&e=71068ef53d>). Participants will be expected to bring their own laptop.
     Second, there is a Software Carpentry workshop on February 23 & 24.
