On Behalf of MCB:
Hi Everyone,
This e-mail is to (re)-introduce you to the Deltavision Elite Microscope that is present in Life Sciences South, Room 517, and make you aware of it's capabilities. Allison Buchanan and myself run the instrument, and offer training and guidance to help meet your needs as necessary.
Main features:
- Widefield Fluorescence Deconvolution Microscope with objectives from 20-100x (+ optional 1.6x zoom enhancement at any magnification)
- Excellent scope for live-cell imaging; anything from bacteria to multi-cellular organisms. Also works well on fixed samples.
- Highly sensitive CMOS camera for detecting weak signals.
- Minimal phototoxicity.
- LED light source allows rapid switching between multiple channels, and potential to take images on <5 ms timescale in one channel.
- Temperature, CO2 and humidity control cage.
- Highly adaptable stage allows imaging of multiple slides, dishes and 96-well plate formats.
- Reliable autofocus options for extended timecourses/movies.
See general details in attached brochure. For aficionados, we are happy to send a more detailed specification/manual along if of interest (Note: we do not currently have TIRF and photokinetic options on this scope).
Normal cost of use:
- $35 per hour (one of the cheapest rates on campus for quality microscopy imaging)
If you have not used the scope before, we are willing to schedule one free demo session with you and your samples to help you evaluate it's suitability.
If you have any questions, please contact Allison Buchanan (allikb1 at email.arizona.edu<mailto:allikb1 at email.arizona.edu>) or myself.
Best wishes,
Ross
