All sessions will be 9-11 am on Tuesday in the iSpace in the Science-Engineering Library<http://new.library.arizona.edu/ispace>. To get the most out of these workshops, participants should bring a laptop with R and RStudio installed<https://jcoliver.github.io/learn-r/000-setup-instructions.html>.
February 27: Your first species distribution model. Predicting ranges' of species from latitude and longitude coordinates has become increasingly easier with a suite of R packages. Come learn how to turn your coordinate data into a range map in this workshop.
March 6. Open R lab. Bring your R questions or just come in to write some code and enjoy coffee and pastries.
March 13: Dendrograms & heatmaps. Want to combine the visualization of quantitative data with clustering algorithms? Unsatisfied with the options provided by the base R packages? In this hands-on workshop, we'll use the ggendro package for R to make publication-quality graphics.
March 20: Open R lab. Bring your R questions or just come in to write some code and enjoy coffee and pastries.
March 27: Introduction to graphics in R. This hands-on workshop will demonstrate how to create a basic plot in R from a text file of data. This introduction provides an entry point for those unfamiliar with R (or a refresher for those who are rusty).
SPECIAL SESSION March 28: Geospatial Analysis with R. Learn how to open, work with and plot vector and raster-format spatial data in R. Additional topics include working with spatial metadata (extent and coordinate reference systems), reprojecting spatial data, and working with raster time series data. While you will not need to have previous experience with R for the workshop, it is recommended. Please note this workshop is on a Wednesday and requires registration.
