New UAGuest Wireless Network Coming April 22

New UAGuest Wireless Network Coming April 22

University Information Technology Services is implementing UAGuest, a new wireless network for campus visitors, to significantly improve the university's wireless network security. UAGuest, will be available on April 22, 2016 and will require authentication with a user name and password.

Campus visitors can select UAGuest from the wireless options on their device, and establish an account valid for 5 days by entering a user name and phone number. After 5 days, guests will need to establish a new account.

UAGuest and UAPublic wireless networks will remain available April 22-May 22. Effective May 22, UAGuest will replace UAPublic for campus visitors.

How you can help

* Inform your units about UAGuest and put information about UAGuest on your unit's website for campus guests.

* Continue to encourage faculty, staff and students to use UAWiFi for fast, secure wireless access on campus.

Campus communications about UAGuest will be distributed in the coming weeks via UAnnounce memos and other campus listservs. Documentation for using UAGuest will be available on the UITS website prior to April 22.
