An acquaintance of mine is now working for ACEA Biosciences, and he would like to bring their new flow cytometer for a two day demo in my lab at UA. I was wondering if this would be of interest to you and your groups?

The instrument, the Novocyte flow cytometer is a small, affordable benchtop instrument that produces data of quality on par with the BD Fortessa, and includes easy to use software.  Four Novocyte configurations are available:


Novocyte 1000 (1 laser, 3 colors) $42,000;

Novocyte 2000 (2 lasers, 4 colors) $47,600;

Novocyte 2060 (2 lasers, 6 colors) $64,400;

Novocyte 3000 (3 lasers, 13 colors) $86,800.

Novosampler - autosampler for 96-well plates, other plates, FACS tubes in 24-tube racks $12,000 (bundled), compatible with any of the above Novocyte systems.

I have schedule the demo for August 10-11 in my lab in Keating (room 302). I have suggested he bring in the 3 laser, 13 color instrument, although my needs are more modest.
