Subject: [Plantsci] FW: Faculty meeting to discuss allocation of instruction funds to individual academic units within CALS

ON Behalf of Dr. Palanivelu

Dear Colleagues,

Dean Burgess has tasked the CALS Faculty Council to submit recommendations advising him about what factors he should consider besides student credit hours (SCH) when distributing instruction funds from CALS to individual units. The instruction funds under consideration are from the UA central administration to individual Colleges via RCM. The factors include level of the course, lab courses, etc.

The council considers this request as an important opportunity for us to provide input to the Dean. So, we identified three questions (see attached file), decided to seek input about them from Faculty of each unit, and then reconvene soon after new year to finalize the recommendations to the Dean.

Therefore, we would like to convene a Faculty meeting before the holidays to discuss about the non-SCH factors for the Dean to consider. Could you please fill out the doodle poll to identify a meeting time next week?
