[Plantsci] Annual Fungal Foray - Mt Lemmon Sunday September 14th

Dear School Members,

This Sunday, September 14th, Barry, Betsy and myself will lead all interested on a fungal foray up Mt. Lemmon. As the monsoons are coming to an end, the fungi/mushrooms should be in great abundance.  We will be gathering on the South side of the Marley building at 8 am on Sunday, and heading up the mountain, with 2-3 stops to search for fungi.  We will break for a picnic lunch at Bear Wallow, before returning to Tucson around 2-3 pm.

If you would like to join us this Sunday, please let one of us know as we are trying to coordinate drivers with riders.  Family and friends are welcome.

What to Bring:
•Lunch
•Water to drink
•Some sort of tool to dig up/pry fungi from the ground or off trees.  A small shovel, spoon, pocket knife are suggestions.
•Camera?
•You may want to bring a small backpack to carry the fungi you collect.
Paper (lunch) bags work well to put your specimens in.

We will be walking through the woods, at least partly off-trail, so dress appropriately.
