Outbound Email Filtering System to Be Implemented Monday, January 27

University Information Technology Services (UITS) will implement a new filter for outbound email for all UAConnect accounts on Monday, January 27. This deployment is the next phase in the implementation process for the new email filtering system that was introduced in November 2013 to reduce spam on incoming email. Filtering outbound email will help identify compromised University accounts being used by spammers to send email without the account holder's knowledge. Enabling outbound email filtering will also help the University meet compliance concerns such as HIPAA and export control in the future.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:

For over 95% of users, there is no change to your email applications.
