[Plantsci] Spring seminar schedule

Hi All,

            On behalf of the seminar committee, I (Hans) am writing you
about the spring PLS/PLP seminar.  Like this Fall we will only have one
weekly seminar in the School and that seminar will be on Tuesday at 4:00.
This is the seminar where graduate students will give their formal seminars.
As a reminder, students on a Master's program are expected to give one
seminar other than their exit seminar and students on a PhD program are
expected to give two seminars before their exit seminar.  This seminar also
is open for any of you in the School who would like to give a seminar.  This
includes faculty, postdocs, sabbatical visitors, etc.  Also, if there are
members of other academic units and/or local scientists from other
disciplines or services who might have a topic of interest to members of the
School, send me or other members of the seminar committee the name and the
seminar committee will invite them to talk.  The students are also invited
to select an off campus speaker and they have selected John Doebley (Mar.
19) as that speaker.  Finally, if you have a visitor to Tucson who has a
subject that would be appropriate and would be willing to give a seminar,
this is the place!  But, other than the speaker that the students invite, we
most likely will have very limited funds to support visiting speakers.

            If you would like to give a seminar or have a suggestion for a
seminar speaker, and/or you have any questions about the seminar, please
contact a committee member or me.  Below is the Spring schedule which is
fairly wide open and we are in particular looking for those willing to fill
in the early dates.  Sincerely
