Dear all faculty, graduate students, postdocs and research staff members:

 

We are glad to announce that the first School of Plant Sciences Research
Retreat is scheduled on Saturday January 26th, 2013. Please save the date
and let your lab members know the great event news. The following is the
tentative information

3rd (see the submission website link at the bottom of this message).

Tentative programs:

7:30AM: checking in

8AM - 12PM: Oral presentations (total of 9 x 20 min and discussion grouped
under three themes)

12PM - 1PM: Lunch 

1PM - 4PM: Oral presentations (total of 6 x 20 min and discussion grouped
under two themes)

4PM - 6PM: Poster session/social hours (with drinks and anti-pasto/Hors
d'oeuvre) 

Bioshere 2 tour (~30 min): TBA optional

 

Presentations:

Please let us know your presentation proposals by December 3rd.  We would
like to ask all faculty members to consider at least one presentation (oral
or poster) proposed out of his/her lab. Multiple presentations per lab are
welcome. 

Oral presentations are not limited to faculty members and graduate
students/postdocs participation is encouraged.  Based on the presentation
proposals, the programs will be decided accordingly by the SPLS research
strategic committee.

Graduate students and family members:

There are a few casitas available for your overnight stay if you are
interested in extending fun time with your friends and families over the
weekend. [Please let Chieri Kubota know your interest].
