The office of International Faculty and Scholars (IFS) provides
immigration-based services to the University community. Specifically, IFS
oversees the Exchange Visitor Program (J-1) for international scholars and
researchers, as well as processes Specialty Occupation Temporary Worker
(H-1B) and Permanent Residency (PR) petitions. Over the last few years, IFS
has continued to experience a high demand for employment-based immigration
services.  Additionally, U.S. laws are continually added and amended;
increasing the responsibilities of IFS.

As with other universities throughout the country, IFS has revised its fee
schedule to accommodate the increase in responsibilities and to cover basic
costs of service. The last increase in IFS fees was five years ago (July
2007).
