On Behalf of Betsy Arnold:

Dear faculty,

The ABBS program, which recruits outstanding graduate students to several of
the UA's biomedical and biological sciences graduate programs, is currently
holding its orientation for incoming Ph.D. students. As part of this, the
School of Plant Sciences will host two events. Both are open to our faculty.

Aug. 14, 10am-Noon: Description of research in Plant Sciences, including
presentations by Becky Mosher, Shelley McMahon, David Baltrus, et al.
Location 230 Marley.

Aug. 14, Noon-1:30: Lunch with ABBS students, co-hosted by MCB. Four
students in the incoming ABBS cohort are interested in Plant Sciences
(systematics, bioinformatics, plant-microbe interactions, fundamental cell
biology). Life Sciences South 440.

If you'd like to describe research in your lab, please contact Betsy Arnold
(arnold at ag.arizona.edu) for a 20-minute slot in the morning session on Aug.
14. As a note, these students are generally interested in cell biology,
molecular biology, -omics, pathogenesis, etc. No RSVP is needed to attend
the presentations.

If you would like to attend lunch, please use the link below to indicate
that you will attend. RSVP by Thursday noon, please. Hope to see you there!
